Mayor Sweet delivers State of the Municipality Address
PILAR, SORSOGON- On 4 August 2023, the LGU-Pilar officials, Department Heads/Head of offices and employees, Punong Barangays of Pilar, the uniformed personnel, National Government Agencies (NGAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), People’s Organization (POs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders were all gathered and witnessed this year’s State of the Municipality Address (SOMA) of Hon. Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes.
The Local Chief Executive rendered an account of the mandate vested upon her by the people of Pilar.
“2022 has been a very challenging and action year for the Local Government Unit of Pilar, Province of Sorsogon. Yet, it was meaningful and a very productive year, marked with milestone achievements and outstanding accomplishments worth recalling on this special day,” Mayor Sweet uttered.
Mayor Sweet who is now serving the municipality of Pilar for the third and last term highlighted the notable achievements under her leadership from January to December 2022. She specified the accomplishment with emphasis on the Vision of Pilar and the four governance areas; financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, and peace and order.
The LCE extended her heartfelt gratitude to all the persons behind this success. She thanked also the Pilareños for the continuous and overwhelming support during her 3 consecutive administrations.
Furthermore, the State of the Municipality Address was held at the LGU Gymnasium, Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon and it was also witnessed by the public through its live coverage at the mayor’s official facebook page.
Congresswoman Bernadette "Dette" Escudero, first district representative graced the SOMA by the honor of her presence.
Among the highlights of the event is the celebration of the 162nd Founding Anniversary of the municipality of Pilar and the blessing and ribbon cutting of Pilar Community College (PiCC). (Pilar PIO)
