1, 391 Pilar beneficiaries got paid in TUPAD


PILAR, SORSOGON-  One thousand three hundred ninety-one (1,391) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged workers (TUPAD) of Pilar, Sorsogon received wages for 10-day community work.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Sorsogon Provincial Office administered the release of reference numbers on January 19, 2024 at LGU-Pilar Pocket Park, Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon.
TUPAD beneficiaries claimed their wages through DOLE’s partner money remittance center using the respective codes released by the DOLE TUPAD Coordinators.
 
1st District Representative Hon. Bernadette “Dette” Escudero graced the activity and conveyed her appreciation to the beneficiaries for being part of the program that helps the community.
 
Cong. Dette through Senator Grace Poe allocated a total of P5, 494, 450.00 to the municipality of Pilar for the TUPAD program for the last quarter of 2023 which benefited 1, 391 Pilareños divided into four batches namely TUPAD 490, 297, 697, and 176 implemented last December 2023.
These four batches of TUPAD all together worked in their respective localities from December 18 to 28, 2023 with responsibilities including community gardening, street cleaning, and beautification.
 
Mayor Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes likewise extended her gratitude to Cong. Dette for the fund allotted for this program that helps the disadvantaged and displaced workers of Pilar. Mayor Sweet expressed her happiness because the program provided beneficiaries with beautiful experiences and also the camaraderie that was established in the span of ten days.
 
The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Ms. Ma. Annie L. Perete, PESO Manager/PIO led the ground works from profiling to implementation.
 
Furthermore, also present during the activity were Vice Governor Jun Escudero, Board Members Nini Ravanilla and Ed Atutubo, Pilar Councilors Hon. Celso Y. Lao Jr. and Hon. Jun Cano. (Pilar PIO)
