LGU Pilar receives complete data set of the 2022 CBMS


PILAR, SORSOGON- Following the successful completion of 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the Local Government Unit of Pilar recently got the comprehensive set of data generated from the 2022 CBMS conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority Region V. The ceremonial undertaking took place at Parau Hall B & C, 3rd flr. Municipal Hall, Pilar Local and National Government Complex, Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon on February 8, 2024.

 
CBMS is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for local planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring while empowering communities to participate in the process. It involves generation of data at the local level which serves as a basis in targeting households for government programs geared towards poverty alleviation and economic development.
 
PSA RSSO V Regional Director Cynthia L. Perdiz, CESO V delivered the highlight of the various data gathered from the statistical undertaking in 2022. This crucial step demonstrates the PSA's unwavering commitment to delivering relevant and reliable data, enabling evidence-based policymaking and development planning.
 
Furthermore, this sought to address concerns in the LGU that require proper interventions and priorities, such as food insecurity, schooling status of the school-aged population, access to electricity, internet connections, safety and security, water, sanitation, and hygiene. The CBMS likewise serves as an instrument to identify areas where specific interventions are required to improve service delivery.
Mayor Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes delivered her message of acceptance and gratitude expressing her deep appreciation to the PSA for successfully leading the data collection, processing, and compilation processes in the municipality of Pilar. She also congratulated everyone involved for their hard effort which reflected everyone's success.
 
LGU Pilar through the Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (OMPDC) headed by Atty. Eduardo D. Gumba, EnP outlined plans and programs for utilizing CBMS data, as well as some security measures. Thus, the data collected by CBMS will be utilized to develop policies and programs that are more responsive to the needs of the community, ensuring that interventions reach the intended beneficiaries.
 
Moreover, the signing of the Data Turnover Agreement between the LGU Pilar and PSA was one of the ceremony's highlights.
 
Present during the program were the officials of the municipality, Department Heads and Heads of offices, Ms. Edcela L. Gubia, LGOOVI, Punong Barangays, LIGA President, MPDC personnel, several employees of the LGU, and other stakeholders. The program was also graced by PSA Sorsogon Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Elvira o. Apogñol and RSSO V-SOCD Chief Statistical Specialist Mr. Danilo V. Luceña. (Pilar PIO)
