
PuroKalusugan Program Launched in Pilar
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pilar, headed by Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes through the Municipal Health Office, has officially launched the PuroKalusugan program aimed at improving primary health care by integrating health promotion, disease prevention, and curative services in all 49 barangays. The initiative is aligned with the Department of Health’s 8-Point Action Agenda, particularly Agenda No. 1: “Bawat Pilipino, Ramdam ang Kalusugan.”
The program was rolled out in the pilot barangays of Abucay, Cabiguan, Catamlangan, Leona, and Migabod throughout February. During the launch, 175 individuals benefited from a range of services, including medical consultations, chest X-rays and laboratory services provided by Culion Foundation, dental care, health counseling, PhilHealth registration, and Member Data Record (MDR) updates. Additionally, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity donated Project H20 water buckets to the five (5) pilot barangays.
The key officials and partners present at the launch included Mr. Arnold Lista, Municipal Administrative Officer; Maita M. Mortega, DMO IV/OIC-PDOHO of Sorsogon; Dr. Louis Miguel L. Doloiras and Dr. Diane Toledo, Rural Health Physicians from the Provincial Health Office; Hon. Lelani M. Millano, Barangay Captain of Cabiguan; Dr. Erika Mae R. Sia, DTTB-RHP; Dr. David Daza, Municipal Health Officer; Gina Bongon, DMO IV of CSOLAR; and Dr. Anawim Paling-Udayan, DTTB-RHP of Castilla.
