PILAR'S MULTI-SKILLS CAMPAIGN HITS BEYOND ENROLLMENT TARGET


PILAR, SORSOGON. LGU-Pilar’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Office of the Community Training and Employment Coordinator (CTEC) and Pilar Training Center came up with MULTI-SKILLS CAMPAIGN backed-up with Local Enrollment to Training Programs as the first training center-led activity ever held in Pilar. The LGU Pilar Gymnasium on April 29, 2025 was jampacked with more than 508 training enthusiasts. It is a combination of students, out-of-school youth, jobseekers, young professionals, workers, teachers, sectoral organizations, and barangay appointed officials.
 
The Activity Plan was crafted to be conducted in one day, covering some topics that are significant to be understood before they can embrace the benefits that skills training can do for productivity, employability, and job readiness of the target sectors. Topics were carefully picked such as 21st Century Skills, Technical Vocational Education and Training(TVET) and Practical Skills and Competency Aligned with Industry Standards, these topics were discussed comprehensively by the chosen experts in their respective fields like Ms. Jhonalyn M. Goyena, Ms. Rosario V. Banzagales and Mr. Jason H. Olarte respectively.

LGU-Pilar in partnership with Pilar Training Center envisioned a community of skilled and competent workforce to become valuable assets in today’s workplace. The skills training and competencies can lead to increased job satisfaction and career advancement. It is also the intention to develop a diverse skillset for competence and competitiveness.

Ma. Annie L. Perete, PESO Manager, PIO, CTEC and PTC Center Manager encouraged a collaboration with the Local Youth Development Officer lll, Ms. Glorei Allelu Lindio for a convergence of efforts to widen the coverage of information and communication to the youth sectors. With the unrelenting support of the Office of the Mayor, represented by Mr. Arnol P. Lista, the OIC Municipal Administrator in the activity. The Multi-Skills Campaign and Local Enrollment to Training Programs formed a significant part in the milestone accomplishment of the local government unit.
