LGU-Pilar launches its official Corporate Seal, Blessing of Multi-Purpose Building concludes the activity


PILAR, SORSOGON- The Local Government Unit of Pilar officially launched its official corporate seal on May 22, 2023 at Pilar, Sorsogon Local and National Government Complex, Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon after it was approved by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Office of the Deputy Executive Director for General Administration, Office of the President on March 22, 2023.

The LGU-Pilar officials and employees, line government agencies and the uniformed personnel were all gathered and witnessed the aforementioned event.
Municipal Mayor Hon. Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes explicate the symbolism of every detail in the seal which embodies the culture, traditions and aspirations of the Pilareños.
 
The year 1861 which was located at the center of the logo is the founding year of Pilar, Sorsogon as a municipality on 6th of August in 1861 by a royal decree. The rice panicle, coconut leaves and the fish symbolize the primary agriculture products of the municipality abundantly growing in its vast land and sea.
 
The anchor signifies Pilar Port and the town’s commitment for the establishment of a well-equipped municipal port as an ideal transshipment point to the Vizayan Region.
 
The map symbolizes the territorial boundaries of the municipality where basic facilities and services will be equally distributed as part of the commitment to bring development in all areas of the municipality.
 
The waves signify the 49 barangays that comprise Pilar and commitment of every barangay for a united dream to make the town a more progressive, safer, and cleaner municipality.
 
The boat which was traditionally called Parau signifies Pilar as a coastal town and a rich fishing ground celebrated in the annual Parau Festival every October.
 
Followed by the hoisting of the LGU-Pilar official banner, Mayor Sweet and Vice Mayor Luis C. Leosala Jr. led the hoisting while the Pilar March was played and sung by employees and guests. Accordingly, the ribbon cutting and blessing of the Multi-Purpose Building located beside the Legislative Building was officiated by Rev. Fr. Treb Futol.
The structure will now house the Municipal Trial CourtCOMELECPublic Attorney’s OfficeDepartment of Agrarian ReformBureau of Internal RevenueSSS, and the Post Office.
 
Indeed, with all the efforts exerted by the LGU officials led by Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes, all local and national agencies are now occupying its respective office spaces in the LGU complex to provide the Pilareños an easy access to daily government transactions. (Pilar PIO)
