Mayor Sweet supports 7K Kadunungan Program: LGU-Pilar allocates P3M counterpart to provide school supplies to public school students of Pilar
PILAR, SORSOGON-The Local Government Unit of Pilar headed by Hon. Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes supports the 7K program of Gov. Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor.
LGU-Pilar in partnership with the Provincial Government of Sorsogon has launched the Kadunungan Program “Gamit Mo, Sagot Ko” on August 29,2023 at Pilar I Central School.
Free school supplies and uniforms were given to all the students of Pilar I Central School from grades 1 to 6.
Educational supplies, bags, shirts, umbrellas for girls and caps for boys were distributed by Mayor Sweet together with the Sangguniang Bayan officials headed by Vice Mayor Luis Leosala Jr., Gov. Boboy, 7K Kadunungan Head Mr. Arthur Balmadrid, Bokal Ryan Dioneda and Bokal Chuck Lubiano together with the 7K staff and LGU-Pilar personnel.
The Kadunungan Program which aims to improve the quality of education in the province by providing the basic needs of primary and secondary students was supported by the 14 municipalities of the province of Sorsogon. LGU-Pilar was the second municipality that launched the said program.
An agreement between LGU-Pilar and PG-Sorsogon was signed on February 15, 2023 at Sorsogon City wherein both parties agreed to have a 60-40 percent sharing scheme of the budgetary requirements for the implementation of the said program.
LGU-Pilar allocates Php 3,435,160.00 which is 40% of the amount allocated by the Provincial Government, which is Php 15, 504, 781.00 that will benefit a total of 20, 523 students of various primary and secondary schools across the municipality.
As such, it is expected that next to the awarding of school supplies is the distribution of bread to every school so that students will have their snacks for the whole school year.
PSDS Dr. Eddie P. Sabalboro, School Head Mr. Arvin Macabuhay, and the teaching staff of Pilar I Central School expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the provincial and local government for the program that supports education.
On the other hand, Gov. Boboy and Mayor Sweet recognized the hard work, dedication and sacrifices of the teachers as they put forth for the education of their students.
Furthermore, LGU-Pilar in coordination with DepEd will distribute the educational supplies to some schools once the supplies are prepared and ready to be distributed. (Pilar PIO)
