Pilar Mayor’s SOMA highlights accomplishments for 2023
PILAR, SORSOGON- On 12 July 2024, Pilar Municipal Mayor Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes delivered her State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), highlighting LGU's accomplishments for the year 2023.
The momentous occasion witnessed by the public through live coverage, took place in the LGU Gymnasium, Pilar Local and National Government Complex, Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon attended by its partners, the National and Local Government Agencies, the equally supportive 49 Punong Barangays of Pilar, uniformed personnel, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), People's Organizations (POs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders.
The dynamic and fruitful year of leadership under Hon. Sy-Reyes has achieved success by focusing on Pilar's Mission which emphasizes uplifting the quality of life of Pilareños, achieving excellence in local governance, developing municipal port, eco-tourism and agri-based industry and championing active participation of all stakeholders.
Thus, the SOMA is a presentation of joint efforts and initiatives carefully chronicled to the fulfillment of its Mission which is, "To uplift the quality of life of Pilareños thru excellent local governance, further development of a well-equipped municipal port, eco-tourism, agri-based industry and human resources with active participation of all stakeholders."
Mayor Sweet expressed gratitude to the officials of the Local Government Unit of Pilar, department heads, head of offices and all employees for the collaborative efforts in providing quality services to the Pilareños, that resulted in having meaningful achievements and awards during her tenure as the Local Chief Executive.
This achievement marks another significant milestone for Mayor Sweet, who is serving her third and last incumbency as Mayor of Pilar.
In her SOMA, the Mayor also thanked the Pilareños for their unwavering support over her three successive administrations, the people behind the success of her last State of the Municipality Address, and most especially her family for being her support system for the past years of serving the municipality of Pilar and its people.
As such, the LGU-Pilar thru Hon. Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes continuously promotes good governance with leaders who exhibit integrity and are fully committed to the values of transparency and accountability.
