TUPAD Workers 30 day-work ends today

     Three Hundred Forty Two (342) TUPAD beneficiaries this year complete the 30 day work today, May 5, 2021 under TUPAD POST COVID Program, a tripartite partnership of DOLE, Sorsogon Provincial Government and LGU Pilar. These 342 workers from 36 barangays of Pilar underwent interview and screening process to qualify in a stricter criteria set for the said program. Supervision and monitoring jobs are lodged in the responsibility of the Public Employment Service Office(PESO) of the LGU with the support extended by the Punong Barangays of the recipient communities.

     TUPAD or TUlong PAnghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/ Disadvantaged Workers is a community-based assistance package that provides emergency employment to the disadvantaged/displaced workers who are affected by crisis like COVID-19 pandemic.

       The TUPAD beneficiaries have rendered 4 hours of work per day to minimize their exposure to threats of Covid 19 virus. The Work Plan includes community canal clean-up and land preparation for vegetable garden. TUPAD beneficiaries will receive a minimum wage of P310 per day. Preparation for such is underway as of this writing.
