New Batch of GIP Interns of Pilar now ready for employment

          One hundred fourty nine (149) Government Internship Program (GIP) Interns of the Municipality of Pilar has undergone the GIP Orientation and Internship Agreement Signing facilitated by DOLE in partnership with the LGU Pilar on Saturday, May 15,2021 held at Bonifacio Covered Court, Pilar, Sorsogon. These slots were distributed in the 49 barangays of Pilar. Three(3) Interns each barangay has been allocated to work in the community on Child Labor Profiling. Two(2)  of the slots are GIP Interns readmitted to GIP to help the PESO in monitoring and supervision tasks.

          Government Internship Program (GIP) is one of the programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to provide opportunities and engage the young workers to work in the goverment agencies / entities like LGUs. The main objective of this program is to give the young workers opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills through public service and of attracting the best and brightest who want to work in the government.

          The program has been accommodated by Pilar Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes since her term, and this new batch of Interns is the 6th group given the exposure on public service experience.

         The activity was spearheaded by the Employment Focal of DOLE V Sorsogon, Mr. Noe Clerigo in coordination with PESO. Likewise, Municipal Administrator Eng. Arthur John Garchitorena, the Mayor's representative, grace the said activity and welcomes the 149 interns which will work for 132 days to LGU offices and BLGUs.

           The employment period will start on May 24,2021, to end on November 30, 2021.
