DSWD conducts KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP LGU Capacity Assessment in Pilar,Sorsogon

          The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services-National Community Driven Development Program (DSWD KC-NCDDP) conducts LGU Capacity Assessment on May 26,2021 at LGU Pilar Women's Center.

          The conduct of the assessment is focused on good governance like participation, rule of law, transparency, equity, sustainability, responsiveness, etc.

          It was done to generate info and measure good governance, identify strengths and areas for improvement of the LGUs along good governance. This was comprehensively discussed by Ms. Zarahlynne T. Lomerio, Training Specialist III and Ms. Adelaida P. Escurel, Area Coordinator from the Regional Program Management Office, DSWD ROV.

         The capacity assessment measures the readiness of LGU to participate and undertake program implementation this year. The said activity was participated by the Department Heads/Head of Offices.

        DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP is one of the alleviation programs of the Philippine Government being implemented by the DSWD. It uses the Community-driven development (CDD) approach, a globally recognized strategy for achieving service, delivery, poverty reduction and good governance outcomes. The ultimate objective of this program is to have barangays/communities of targeted municipalities become empowered to achieved improved access to services and to participate more inclusive local planning, budgeting and implementation.

         Furthermore, Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes expressed her gratitude for the support and developmental projects given by DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS to the Pilareños especially to the small communities in dire need of projects for the benefit of the people. In this time of pandemic, LGU Pilar and DSWD worked together to lighten the burden carried on by the people due to the effects of pandemic.
