          LGU Pilar raised its bar of international standards after receiving the official ISO Certification 9001: 2015 Quality Management System from its certifying body,TUV SUD PSB Philippines dated April 12, 2021.Today, the 28th of June 2021, the Local Government Unit of Pilar headed by Hon. Mayor Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes hold the ISO 9001:2015 Certification Presentation and Awarding Ceremony at 8:30 in the morning at Bonifacio Covered Court, Pilar, Sorsogon.

 

         The conferment was made by QMR Arthur John S. Garchitorena stating that LGU Pilar embarked on a journey to ISO 9001:2015 Certification . He added that after almost 2 years of trainings, workshops and seminars everyone showed extraordinary determination to continue to pursue the objective of becoming ISO certified LGU.

 

          Moreover, Board Member Krunimar “Jun” Escudero of the First District of Sorsogon graced the occasion and represented Gov. Francis Joseph “Chiz” G. Escudero to award the cash incentive amounting to Php 500, 000.00 to LGU Pilar for being the third LGU in the Province of Sorsogon to pass the ISO Certification.

 

          With enthusiasm, he congratulates LGU Pilar for passing the external quality audit of TUV SUD last December 28, 2020 and March 18-19, 2021 as it provides assurance of transparency, accountability and sustainability. For him, the conferment of TUV SUD Philippines is the evidence of change and solutions to issues related to Quality Management System.

 

          In her speech, Hon. Mayor Carolyn “Sweet” C. Sy-Reyes extends her heartfelt gratitude to Gov. Chiz Escudero and to the Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Sorsogon for the support in the ISO journey and for the cash grant given to LGU Pilar. “This will surely serves as an inspiration to work harder and achieve more,” Mayor Sweet pointed out the extraordinary efforts exemplified by LGU Pilar family for the 80 processes that has been certified.As she formally presents the ISO Certification to the LGU employees and stakeholders, it was with pride and sincerity when she exclaimed;"This certificate is a testament that the quality management system of LGU Pilar has been audited and found to be in accordance to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015."

 

          Among the highlights of the program was the cutting of the ceremonial cake by Mayor Sweet with the Members of the Sanggunian Bayan and the Top Management Team as it symbolizes "working together"and partaking in the cake cutting would mean committing to be a part of the responsibility.

 

The ISO journey is yet to move forward until continuous improvement in the quality service to the public is realized.(Pilar PIO)
