14 Beneficiaries of LSP-NSB Program of DTI receive Livelihood Kits

The Department of Trade and Industry-Sorsogon Provincial Office distribute livelihood kits to the 14 beneficiaries of the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) on July 26,2021 at Bonifacio Covered Court, Pilar, Sorsogon.

The LSP-NSB is a program of DTI that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing development government services closer to the people through partnerships between local government units (LGUs) and DTI. Through the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs), the DTI helps capacitate Barangay personnel to provide basic business advisory or information dissemination services to Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the locality.

The activity was facilitated by the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) headed by Ms. Adelfa Mallapre. In the message of Mr. Heginio A. Baldano, Provincial Director of DTI-SPO, he underscores the effort of LGU-Pilar to the said partnership and he extends his gratitude to Mayor Carolyn C. Sy- Reyes for supporting DTI in its programs and services. Mr. Baldano encouraged the partipants to take part in the agency's activities, trainings and workshops to enhance their skills and give them additional knowledge in running a business.

Beneficiaries who availed the program have submitted the requirements such as Business Name Certificate or Barangay Permit as proof of business, attendance to the business development sessions conducted by DTI Provincial Offices and Negosyo Centers, duly filled-out Simplified Action Plan and Pledge of Commitment.

The objective of the activity is to provide livelihood kits and business development assistance to pre-identified beneficiaries who were greatly affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including the Covid-19 pandemic for them to be able to recoil and spur economic activities.
