Pilar’s Newsletter officially launched
With Pilar’s mandate to inform the public, under the 1987 Constitution, and its desire to widen information dissemination initiatives to reach the lowest strata of the community, LGU Pilar’s Public Information Office(PIO) has officially launched PilareNEWS, the official newsletter of Pilar during the regular Liga Meeting of the Punong Barangays on August 27,2021, 9:20 AM at Pilar Women's Center.
Executive Order No. 47, series of 2021 "An order establishing PilareNEWS as the Official Newsletter of the Local Government Unit of Pilar,Sorsogon and for other purposes," was issued by the Office of the Municipal Mayor on August 20, 2021.
Section 2 of the EO states that PilareNEWS will be published per semester with special edition in between, quarterly edition will be considered if the need arises.
Ms. Annie L. Perete, Public Information Officer came up with the name PILAReNEWS after a brainstorming with the office staff in July 4, 2021.“PilareNEWS, when uttered are the “people of Pilar themselves, ”e" symbolizes the digital age where it will attune the circulation of the copies thru the official website of LGU Pilar, other social media platform/s and will be sent via e-mail to partner agencies and other stakeholders. It also carries the emblem of Pilar as land of small boats called "parau". Lastly, the word "NEWS" is what the publication wants to deliver to its people…. accurate, credible and true.
However, when it was about to be printed, it was found out that the same name already exists as GROUP in facebook created by Mr. Adrian Loterte on March 12, 2018, a consent from him has been given to use the same name for the newsletter in a conversation thru phone with the PIO on August 6, 2021.
We acknowledge Mr. Loterte for such.
The PIO explored many possibilities to make the publication matter amid financial difficulty that may be incurred along the way. Thus, the desire to utilize all communication channels is imperative to make the programs projects activities and services reach the barangays in the remote areas with unstable/poor network connection that is why this becomes the main reason to have the information delivered right before their eyes.Besides, print media is still one of the oldest and basic forms of mass communication longed by many.
