Minors aged 12 to 17 years old receive first jab of Covid-19 vaccine
 
In order to take action and help fight Covid-19, the LGU Pilar take necessary actions to protect the community through bringing the Covid-19 vaccines closer to its people. Vaccines are said to be the best hope to end Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, minors aged 12 to 17 years old receive their first jab against the coronavirus which has been available in the municipality since November 5,2021 along with the nationwide pilot rollout of Covid-19 inoculation for this age group.
 
Children get inoculated with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines wherein it was granted with emergency use authorization by the Philippine drug regulators and is also approved by the Department of Health (DOH). These brands are the only vaccines allowed to inoculate pediatric population which was stated under the guidelines of the national government.
 
Parents/guardians on the other hand accompanied their children as they line-up to get vaccinated. Minors are more excited to have their shot in line with the announcement of the pilot testing of face-to-face classes in the selected approved schools. Thus, children were positively looking forward of getting back to school in the future.
 
Along with the LGUs vaccination campaign on Covid-19, Hon. Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes highly encouraged the Pilareños to get vaccinated so they could get protection against the coronavirus disease. LGU Pilar Rural Health Unit with its partner agencies lend their helping hands to speed up its vaccination drive. Regular vaccination was scheduled from Monday to Saturday at the Bonifacio Covered Court, Pilar, Sorsogon. Vaccines were likewise effectively delivered to the scheduled barangays through the mobile Resbakuna administered by the RHU and DOH.
