OWWA approves P800,000 Livelihood Grant to OFW Organization, NRCO Director awards the 1st Tranche
 
OWWA-NRCO Director IV Gerald “ Dindi” M. Tan awards the 1st tranche of the approved livelihood grant to the OFW Family Circle of San Rafael Organization(OFC-SRO) today, January 7, 2022 in barangay San Rafael, Pilar, Sorsogon. It was attended by OWWA Regional Welfare Office V OIC RD Jenivie Diaz Aguallo and OWWA Central and Regional Personalities and Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes.
 
The livelihood grant is the Tulong Puso of OWWA-NRCO being a reintegration program granting financial assistance to a registered group to venture into business.
 
Pilar’s lone DOLE Registered OFW Organization was able to meet the requirements set forth by the program. Rice Retail Trading, Motorboat and Water Refilling Station comprise the project that they presented in their business plan and was approved with a financial grant amounting to P800,000. An equity from the organization and the LGU has made the proponent organization qualified for the said project.
 
Pilar Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes conveyed her gratitude to OWWA-NRCO acknowledging the pioneering effort of the OFWs to avail such project to make their lives better to combat economic hardships brought about by the pandemic.
 
The check amounting to 20% of the total project cost was awarded by OWWA -NRCO Director, OWWA RWOV OIC RD and the Mayor to the OFC-SRO President Mernita Losito in the project site which was witnessed by the officers and members of the organization, the PESO Manager and the barangay officials.
 
The 2nd and 3rd tranche will be awarded after the liquidation of the 1st tranche which is intended for the business permits, DTI Registration, BIR and other fees to be incurred for the business operation.
