Municipal Mayor Carolyn ‘’Sweet’’ Sy-Reyes delivered her remark sharing her excitement on the 1st Flag Raising Ceremony in the new building, quoting it as “soft opening” which coincides with the celebration of Valentine’s Day where different colors invade the ground.

Halos gabos na color nahihiling ta ngonian, kaya ma-interview kita sa nagkapira kun nata iyan ang pinili ninda.’’ [Most colors can be seen today, that is why we will interview (some personnel) and why did they choose (the color of their clothes)], she quipped.

Mayor Sy-Reyes called some LGU personnel to share their reason of choosing the color.

‘’Inuton ko si Miss A. Nata tabi Miss A iyan ang saimong color?’’ [I will ask first Miss A. Why did you choose that color?]

‘’Last year, I promised before you when I was chosen as best dressed in white. I promised myself that after a year I will be joining the majority in red attire but sad to say, I haven’t realized the love that should be felt by me this year. So, my status today is green, waiting for someone to love me and care for me, someone that is, probably, miles away.’’ Public Information Officer (PIO) and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Ma. Annie Perete had imparted.

The color coding that symbolizes the status of employees made them tease each other because of the meaning that their shirt implied.

Municipal Civil Registrar Muriel Argote stated,‘’In love man po ako, nag-sulog ako ning white, long distance kasi dai ko siya kataning.’’ [I am also in love; my white shirt implicates that we are in a long-distance relationship because we are not together today.]

Furthermore, the conduct of games administered by the staff of the Mayor’s Office had spice-up the mood in the celebration where winners received prizes from Mayor Sweet.

The essence of the celebration all boil down to get inspiration and strength from love, loving can be powerful that resulted in loving the job that everyone is doing. Loving, then becomes a never-ending quest for excellence in the kind of service that the public deserve.
