PILAR,SORSOGON- March 24,2022 marks another significant milestone in the history of Pilar as the Pilareños celebrate the Inauguration and Blessing of the New Local and National Government Complex located at Barangay Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon.

 

Mayor Carolyn "Sweet" C. Sy-Reyes and the Sangguniang Bayan officials headed by Vice Mayor Luis C. Leosala Jr. spearheaded the activity. Gov. Francis Joseph "Chiz" Escudero and Ms. Dette Escudero, the representative of Congresswoman Evelina “Nanay Evie” Escudero grace the event by their honored presence.

 

With Gov. Chiz Escudero's burning desire to help and serve the Sorsoganons, 3 years ago, he pledged of rebuilding the municipal town halls in the province of Sorsogon including Pilar to serve the public efficiently and effectively. This is to back-up the quality management systems put in place as ISO Certified LGUs. According to Gov. Chiz, the construction of the new LGU Building symbolizes the external face of the governance of an ISO certified municipality. However, he stated that the ISO journey never ends on being certified, this will somehow follow improvements that will benefit the community.

 

The complex includes a three-story town hall, the Legislative Building with Library that was built based on the requirement of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Rural Health Unit (RHU) from Department of Health (DOH), Gymnasium from Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Evacuation Center from Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Gov. Chiz realizations has been successfully fulfilled seeing the respective municipal town halls functionally and aesthetically built.

 

"This afternoon's Inauguration proved that Pilar is a 1st class municipality and definitely deserving to be called a 1st class municipality in the province of Sorsogon," Escudero delightedly exclaimed.

 

Nanay Evie likewise extended her message of warm congratulations to the LGU Pilar for being an ISO certified municipality. She lauded one’s effort in taking part in the overall development of Pilar especially in delivering quality services to its clientele.

 

Mayor Sweet on the other hand expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Nanay Evie and Gov. Chiz for the fund allotted to Pilar in order to build a state-of-the-art complex that will serve as the new home for the Pilareños. In conjunction with the activity, the mayor delivered her State of the Municipality Address (SOMA) dedicated to the constituents of Pilar and to all the distinguished guests who serve as her inspiration to push forward.

 

“Every bit of success is intended for the betterment of the future of Pilar,” Mayor Sweet asserted before addressing the LGUs accomplishments, service enhancement and the infrastructure development in which her aspiration for the improvement of Pilar has resulted to victory.

 

 

"A gift will never be truly a gift, unless it is shared," Bishop Dialogo stated during the Thanksgiving Mass. He emphasizes the municipal town hall as a gift from above to share to the people of Pilar.

 

Indeed, the LGU with its partner agencies were unitedly pleased to offer its best services to all its clienteles thru this decent and convenient infrastructure facilities.
