March 24, 2022 marks the Inauguration and Blessing of the biggest complex in the province of Sorsogon which is the Pilar, Sorsogon Local and National Government Complex, the new home of the Pilareños established at barangay Calongay, Pilar, Sorsogon.

 

Along with this, the Local Government Unit of Pilar is currently working for the ongoing construction of the Multi-purpose Freedom Park located between the municipal town hall and the Legislative building. The park is made up of plants and grassy areas, as well as artifacts like fountain, playground structures, a giant chess board area, a waiting shed, shade structures, walkways, a parking area, and site amenities like benches and picnic tables. Freedom Park is a tranquil place and the best spot as a restful haven in the midst of the town’s busy streets where children can play around and visitors can jog, walk, stay for awhile and relax.

 

Covered bleachers for a variety of outdoor venues were also built at the center of Pilar MPS, Rural Health Unit (RHU), evacuation center, and the Legislative building. The concrete bleachers can seat 250 people and have a cover that provides extensive protection and cooling shade. The existing court was enclosed with mesh wire and was surrounded by concrete pavement. This area is sophisticatedly designed for the sports lovers who are passionate and excited about athletics.

 

Similarly, construction of a multi-purpose building adjacent to the park is still ongoing. It has a warehouse on the first floor, seven (7) rentable stalls on the second floor with one (1) comfort room. These stalls will be rented by the business owners in Pilar where it can cater to public necessary needs, such as food area, printing shop, etc.

 

Recently, one of the latest attractions at the complex is the newly installed high performance IEC LED wall which produces brightly lit images and deliver dynamic video. This attention-grabber screen provider shows LGU Pilar’s services and achievements as well as tourist attractions in town.

 

Having access to spectacular open spaces for hiking and other recreational activities is somehow providing a place for the Pilareños to take a few minutes to experience a home away from home moments and refresh themselves with these aesthetic attractions in Pilar that will be open for the public soon.
