PILAR, SORSOGON- In a landmark effort to improve emergency response capabilities, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pilar under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Carolyn "Sweet" C. Sy-Reyes has provided 49 new Emergency Transport Vehicles (ETVs) to each barangay during the Blessing and Turn-over Ceremony held at Municipal Hall, Sorsogon and National Government Complex, Pilar, Sorsogon. This initiative marks the first time in Pilarโs history that every barangay is equipped with its own ETV, and is expected to significantly enhance the barangay's ability to respond to medical emergencies.
Mayor Carolyn "Sweet" C. Sy-Reyes led the turnover ceremony, where the new vehicles were formally handed over to barangay officials. She emphasized the importance of the ETVs in ensuring timely medical attention, particularly in critical situations where rapid response is crucial. The newly distributed vehicles are designed to improve access to healthcare and emergency services, particularly for residents in remote areas. It will enable barangays to offer prompt first aid and efficiently transport the sick or injured to nearby hospitals, thus reducing response times in urgent situations.
Vice Mayor Luis Leosala Jr., Municipal Counselors, Department Heads, Barangay Officials, LGU employees also attended the ceremony, expressing their support for the program, which aims to bolster public safety and health services in Pilar.
This milestone underscores the LGUโs commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents of Pilar through better-equipped emergency services and more accessible healthcare.
