LGU-Pilar employees join Environment Hour
PILAR, SORSOGON- As an advocacy to maintain the cleanliness in the LGU Complex, LGU-Pilar employees and job order workers join the ‘Environment Hour’ by devoting one hour of work per week to clean around the complex.
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9003 otherwise known as “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000”, Mayor Carolyn C. Sy-Reyes issued Executive Order No. 47, series of 2023, entitled “An Executive Order enjoining all LGU employees and Job Order workers to devote one hour per week of work for ‘Environment Hour’ as an advocacy to maintain cleanliness in the LGU Complex of Pilar, Sorsogon and for other purposes.”
To preserve the cleanliness and beauty of Pilar Local and National Government Complex, LGU-Pilar has established programs relating to waste management, cleanliness, and environmental protection.
The ‘Environment Hour’ activity was scheduled every Friday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Each department or office has designated areas to clean as specified by the Office of the Environment and Natural Resources Unit (ENRU).
Thus, employees or JO workers who are unable to take part in the aforementioned activity will remain as the skeletal force of their respective offices. (Pilar PIO)
